"Strike"

Wool, specialty yarn & wire 18" x 30"

This piece started out from a painting with strong brush strokes. The strokes were reminiscent of Chinese calligraphy. When I translated it into fiber and wire, I kept the bold strokes. The blocks of color are reminders of color field painting by artists such as Rothko or Frankenthaler. The title, "Strike", seemed to fit. There is a bold movement in this one.
